Users of Google Slides can now add slide numbers to their presentations.
This is a useful addition for both presenters and audiences, enabling you to refer unambiguously to parts of your presentation.
To add slide numbers, simply use Insert > Slide numbers from the toolbar.
Slide numbers show up discreetly in the corner:
Slide numbers can be added to all of your slides or just selected slides. You can also check the box marked Skip title slides to avoid these having their numbers unnecessarily displayed:
