Link Directly to Comments in Google Docs

In previous posts I’ve discussed adding comments to documents.

It’s handy to know that you can easily obtain a URL link directly to each of those comments. This can be especially helpful in long documents when you want to direct a collaborator to the specific part of the file to which your comment refers. Let’s see an example:

Suppose I want to direct a colleague to the comment shown above. First, I open the list of comments using the Comments button at the top right of the document:

Each comment has its own dropdown menu, accessed via the down-arrow at the top right of the comment box:

Here I can click on Link to this comment… to open a dialog containing a URL that I can copy to the clipboard:

Once this URL has been given to a colleague, he or she can use it to navigate directly to the comment:
