Google’s My Maps app is a cool tool that lets you create custom maps with your own data layered on top.
The service has been around for a while, but is now available directly from within Google Drive.
Once the interface is open, you’ll find it fairly self explanatory, but you can hover over any of the tools and links to get tool-tip hints:
Draw lines and annotated place markers, measure distances and/or import information from other sources directly into your map. You can rename your map, add multiple layers, share it with others, and it will auto-save, just like any other Drive file:
