Better Searching in Google Calendar and Drive

In this post from last year I described how you can receive aggregated search results from Gmail and Google Drive. Google has now improved things a little further, aggregating the results of Calendar and Drive searches into a single result set.

Let’s look at an example. Here I’ve used the Google Calendar search bar to seek results based on the term irpf (an acronym for the Spanish equivalent of income tax).

You’ll see that the result includes not only calendar events that match the term but Google Drive documents and spreadsheets too.

Carrying out the same search in Google Drive:

As you can see, this has produced a similar result set, but with the addition of a relevant email conversation too (this would have appeared in the calendar search too, had it not used a different email account from my Google account).
